PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS AND NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS
All pharmaceutical products in Honduras, including nutritional supplements and others, must have their respective valid health registration. This is the authorization for a product of health interest to be manufactured, imported, packaged, or sold once all technical and legal requirements are met. Health registrations are obtained for five-year periods and must be renewed within five months prior to the expiration date. If a previously registered product undergoes a change in its content, formula, or manufacturing process, a modification must be processed.
NATURAL PRODUCTS, FOOD AND BEVERAGES
Sanitary registrations are mandatory for all natural products, foods, and beverages that involve the processing of raw materials and are stored, packaged, and distributed for marketing. Sanitary registration implies recognition of the product in question by the State of Honduras through the Sanitary Regulation Agency (ARSA). The Agency grants the registration once it has verified compliance with all legal and technical requirements regarding hygiene, quality, condition, etc
MEDICAL DEVICESs
All products considered Medical Devices require health registration. This includes, for example, any instrument, apparatus, machine, software, or biomedical equipment intended for the diagnosis, prevention, monitoring, treatment, or alleviation of an illness or injury.
Health registration authorizes the production, sale, and distribution of medical devices such as: medical equipment, prostheses, orthoses, functional aids, diagnostic agents, dental supplies, surgical materials, healing materials, and hygiene products.
